Summer Exchange Program for Chinese Students

EF Educational Homestay Programs will bringing a group of 34 Chinese students and 2 teachers to Connecticut this summer to study English and explore American culture. The manager in NY is seeking a community where there is a solid base of people who have interest in Chinese language and culture who would likely be involved with this program. The Chinese students will arrive in NY on 7/17, and depart 8/16. EF is looking for the following positions:

Program Leader, to be responsible for planning the calendar of events and chaperoning the students on their field trips around the area.

Two English teachers: to teach our language curriculum to our students for approximately 3 1/2 hours in the morning Monday through Friday.

Host family recruiters: to involve finding hosts for our students to stay with while they are in our program. EF keeps the students busy Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, so evenings and weekends are spent with the hosts.

Unpaid internships: to help out in the classroom and on the excursions. EF will be contacting Western Connecticut State University to see if they have classrooms to rent over the summer, so it will be convenient for us who are interested in our program.

If you are interested in this program while our school is in Summer break, please email me (yan.w.chen@gmail.com) with the following information by 2/13, then we can invite the project manager for detail discussion:

University of Virginia Students Need Help with a Quick Survey!

Dear Western Connecticut Chinese Association,

We are students at the University of Virginia, and our advertising class is undergoing a case study about the car industry. We need to gather survey data from all across the country, including Connecticut, and would really appreciate your help. We created a survey that only takes about two minutes, and it would be a huge help if you could take the survey and pass it on to anyone in your organization or any friends who might be interested! As an added incentive, we’ve decided to offer a $20 Amazon gift card to one lucky survey respondent!

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to e-mail us. Below is the link to the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/UVaDrivingSurvey Thank you for your time!
